The Magnet Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for operating a double hoist overhead crane using magnets to load and unload steel plates.
Job Responsibilities
Crane: Safely operate magnet cranes
Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled and performs all functions associated with double hoist overhead crane remotely.
Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed. Check material for grade, thickness, and size. Color codes material per procudure.
Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment. Use and understand measuring instruments: tape measure and micrometer
Certification: Inhouse certification to operate overhead cranes is required
Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic
Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others
Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
