SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Addiction Services, the Supervisor, Nursing-Addiction Services will get their team up and running efficiently by providing outstanding oversight, direction, and leadership of the Addition Services team, while concurrently ensuring appropriate services and excellent care are received for patients suffering with opioid disorder. They will be successful in this role by actively participating as a member of a patient-focused interdisciplinary care team and will manage the practice and delivery of nursing care by establishing clinical direction, providing clinical supervision, and maintaining quality outcomes. They will collaborate and assists the Manager, Addiction Services in all aspects of development and personnel management.

HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED

• Effectively supervise and oversee the daily objectives of the Addiction Services nursing team.
• Be actively engaged when overseeing your team member’s individual performance which should include ongoing coaching, development, and meeting objectives through the annual review process.
• Lead by example by provide ongoing communication, teaching, and training to team members.
• Actively lead team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work productivity, quality and efficiency of the team.
• Determine appropriate patient care decisions and identify/resolve concerns affecting the delivery of patient care services.
• Provide comprehensive nursing services and care to all substance use disorder patients and their significant support systems.
• Demonstrate professionalism in coordination of care for other service lines to include primary care, infectious disease, social work, etc.
• Coordinate and document transitions of care, including transitions to a higher level of care or termination of services.
• Monitor patient adherence to their treatment plan, ensuring all changes or deviations are communicated to the patient and the treatment team.
• Assist with urine drug screens; confirm urine drug screens are performed according to the treatment plan, and that relevant results are discussed by the treatment team.
• Coordinate and supervise administration of buprenorphine induction and long-acting naltrexone ; provide education, assessment and support of patients throughout the process.
• Complete appropriate prior authorizations and patient assistance forms.
• Identify and ensure care delivery is maintained within the scope of practice for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses who may be on the team.
• Manage practice of professional nursing care by establishing clinical direction for nursing care delivery, providing clinical supervision, delegating responsibilities, and maintaining quality outcomes.
• Maintain an accurate and current census of patients receiving Addiction Services treatment.
• Maintain and update clinical and professional knowledge and skills through formal and informal educational experiences to ensure best evidence based practice.
• Maintain clear communication with co-workers, referents or designated liaison person.
• Provide education to patients and family regarding diagnosis, medication and health promotion.
• Participate in implementation quality improvement assurance initiatives and utilization reviews to ensure current evidence-based care.
• Provide outstanding patient care from the point of treatment entry through early recovery, emphasizing rapid access and patient experience. This includes ensuring there is an up-to-date and clinically appropriate treatment plan for each patient beginning treatment.
• Provide excellent oversight and monitoring of program effectiveness through, but not limited to, chart reviews, defined outcome measures, variance reports, and individual and team supervision.
• Represent the company in a professional manner and coordinate care with appropriate staff of outside facilities or emergency rooms when necessary.
• Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
• May be required to perform telehealth services as determined by Signature Health.
• Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
• Responsible for and completes all productivity/documentation requirements.
• Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
• Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence with Signature Health policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Completion of an approved program in registered nursing required.
• 3+ years of total RN experience required
• 1+ year of Supervisory experience preferred
• 2+ years of addiction services nursing experience preferred
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Proficient with technology and electronic medical records.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
• While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
• Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
• Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
